Difficult Times:
During these very difficult economic times, we found it increasingly difficult to get enough food to help feed the families we serve.  As the economy worsened, we saw an increase in the number of families that asked for help with food, clothing, utility bills and rent.  We now serve over 400 families or about 1,200 persons each month.  We visit the Central Virginia Food Bank in Richmond monthly to get United States Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.) food items and to purchase other staples to make up the food boxes we distribute to families across Essex County.

Community Assistance:
In 2008, we received 7,355 pounds of food from churches and other community organizations.
Through monetary donations, we were able to purchase 14,900 pounds of food to help supplement the U.S.D.A. food.

Special Thanks:
Thanks to the many faithful volunteers, churches, and services groups.  You make it possible to help so many clients.  We appreciate your willingness to work with us to make Essex County a better place to live.
